Background: Alley was adopted from the SPCA 5 years ago. Energetic playful and an incredible friend to another thoroughbred Scottish Terrier.
Fun Fact: Alley goes OCD over finding bugs in any terrain. She has been known to not have ears when we go for walks - foraging for any creepy crawly she can find.

Background: Born in Pretoria. My husband chose her for my 50th Birthday. She has been a real blessing to our whole family, young and old. Bella travels a lot and loves the sea and swimming in rivers and dams.
Fun Fact: Bella loves playing soccer and has perfected carrying a soccer ball without puncturing it. She has multiple balls hidden all over the garden. Chasing lizards is a major pass-time and sometimes saving them from drowning in the pool.

Regular Handler: Denise Naudè
Background: Bella came to us with a broken spirit. She had no bounce, no wiggle and couldn’t be lured out of her kennel even with the most tempting doggy snack on offer. It took months of dedication to win her trust. She attended basic obedience classes and qualified as a TOP Dog therapy dog on 30 September 2015. Bella is very fond of small children and thoroughly enjoy the attention received from the children in our AAT programs.
Fun Fact: Bella loves to stalk birds, slowly creeping up to them and then she utters a joyous bark and runs off to her next “hide and bark” game.

Background: I obtained Bertie from an animal rescue centre he had been given up by his previous owners he was 6 and half months old. Bertie was enrolled at a dog school to assist with his training and as soon as he was old enough he was put forward for the evaluation to become a Therapy Dog. Bertie now joins his brother Freddy as proud team members of Top Dogs.
Fun Fact: Bertie is a very loving little dog and loves nothing better than cuddling up to me or his brothers, he has his mad hour when he just goes cracker dog by racing all around the house and garden.

Background: We brought Bella into our home at 8 weeks old as a friend for Waffle (mixed breed). Ever since she’s been the centre of attention. Bella is calm for a Beagle though very busy for a dog!
Fun Fact: When we’re out and about Bella’s nose is almost always on the ground as she just loves smelling things. Other than her therapy visits, she enjoys doing agility class, going for long walks, visiting outdoor markets, playing hide and seek, chewing toys, playing tug of war or (sometimes) cuddling up on the couch. Her favourite thing in the world is kisses on her cheek.

Background: Bugsy was adopted when she was 8 weeks old. She is very intelligent and turns her little head when you make a sound she is unfamiliar with. Bugsy has 3 doggy siblings who she loves to play with.
Fun Fact: Bugsy's favourite toy is a rope toy - she can play tug-o-war all day. When it is hot outside she takes a swim in the pool with her dog siblings and riding in the car is such a treat, especially when she gets to put her head out the window.

Background: Bella was rehomed with us when she was 10 months old. She lives with her Chocolate Labrador sister Pepper (also a therapy dog) and with a rescue Beagle brother Odie.
Fun Fact: Bella loves to snuggle up next to people and enjoys sleeping on any available pillow. Atypically of a beagle she will (occasionally) come when called. She is a very good sniffer and can find food, and other “edible” things, no matter how well they are hidden.

Background: adopted from Woodrock Animal Rescue in Hennops River.
Fun Fact: Buddy loves people and children and can’t wait to meet and greet them on approaching. Buddy easily socialized with our other two small older rescues, Dasher 13 and Sox 11. He loves his ball, which he has stolen from Sox and never gives him a turn to catch and fetch. He is a keen learner and we are very happy to have him in the family and we all love him very much.

Background: Betty was born in Namibia and flew to Johannesburg when she was 4 months old to take up her place as the boss at home.
Fun Fact: Although Betty excelled at puppy school, she hates sitting on the ground. She has to sit on a chair or a lap whenever possible and if you don't pick her up, she will be very vocal about it.

Fun Fact: Azzie does not bark or growl like a regular dog, she squeaks like a kitten! And being hairless, she has a whole wardrobe of outfits for winter.

Background: Bush was taken into care by Border Collie Rescue after being surrendered by his family for economic reasons. He was adopted by Gill and Norman in December 2012 and been with them ever since with Kelly, Sporran and Melba.
Fun Fact: He likes car rides and sits in the front passenger seat as he is gets car sick in the back. Bush also does monthly tin collections for Animals in Distress and Border Collie Rescue with his Belgian Shepherd brother Kelly where he interacts with children and people of all ages and ethnic groups and his always happy to greet them.

Background: Chloe was heaven-sent, as we inherited her just after a family loss. Chloe is a little boisterous because of her genes (she doesn’t realise her own strength), so she is better suited to visits with children. She is calm, friendly and exceptionally lovable and is a master kisser.
Fun Fact: Chloe loves to play rough and tumble with our cat Sidney (who thinks he is a dog). She also gets silly at times and loves racing around the house like a mad thing running from room to room jumping form beds to couches and back again.

Background: Diva was given to me as a very special birthday gift when she was seven weeks old. She is an only child in a single parent home. As a puppy she did the puppy socialization course and is currently busy with further training. Diva has an independent spirit, is strong-willed and can be very stubborn. She is my “hearing dog” and listens out for the doorbell and other sounds.
Fun Fact: Diva is absolutely in love with an old blanket which is always close by. When the door bell rings, she grabs the blanket in her mouth and greets the visitor, strutting and presenting her blanket.

Fun Facts: Cadbury loves walking around with soft toys. Her teddy is her favoured. She enjoys play dates with her 2 Retriever friends.

Background: Chisomo survived being abandoned and diagnosed with second stage mast cell cancer. She proofed that lots and lots of love will make a dog go the extra mile to become a therapy dog.
Fun Fact: Chisomo will drool your last piece of rusk out of your mouth. She's at any given time ready for a swim, ear scratch, playing ball, or ride in the car.

Background: Dexter found me as a puppy from a ‘whoopsie’ litter of JRTs. He is my first dog and has agreed to love cats also! From the day he came to live with me, he also came to work with me, now we limit this to say, once a week! This has made him so easy around people. His picture perfect features are enough to convince any person to love him.
Fun Fact: Dexter is crazy about his ball, and swimming, preferably swimming with a ball! Dexter is office mascot, and comes dressed for action sporting a tie and attitude to take on the world.

Background: We bought her through a breeder in KwaZulu-Natal. Casey is true to her breed as she loves retrieving - she was very easy to train. She loves swimming. As long as she is getting attention she is very happy. She is extremely loveable and life would not be the same without her.
Fun Fact: She brings the newspaper to me every morning in bed.

Background: Bailey is a fun, loving part human dog who has always been drawn to people and able to make them smile, she has completed a varied of training programs and takes special pride in working with the disabled community her strong build makes her a great companion for rehabilitation movement and allowing kids to enjoy activities with her.
Fun Fact: Bailey has many tricks up her sleeve but her favourite is opening her birthday and Christmas presents.
